Il legame tra il cantante Pierluca e la musica swing, italiana ed americana, ha origini lontane, e precisamente nei dischi di Frank Sinatra e Bing Crosby che si ascoltavanoin casa quando era bambino, approfondita con anni di studio ed esercitata in moltissimi anni di concerti con band ed orchestre di jazz tradizionale, swing e jive. Le sue collaborazioni sono infatti molteplici ed importanti, dal jazz tradizionale a fianco di Lino Patruno e Red Pellnini, allo swing italiano per diversi anni nella band “Swing maniacs” di Renzo Arbore, alle esperienze di clubs e festival con i “Big Night Jive” e con la “Sing Sing Swing Orchestra”, oltre che direttamente a suo nome.
Il repertorio dell’attuale quintetto a suo nome è la “summa” di tutte questa esperienze, e non può che abbracciare lo swing e la musica italoamericana i cui eroi sono stati Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, il nostro Fred Buscaglione, per citarne alcuni.
Che si tratti di un jazz club o di un evento privato lo scopo è quello con cui nasce questa musica: intrattenere. In questo l’intenzione ricalca fedelmente quella dei tanto illustri predecessori.
The bond between singer Pierluca and swing music, Italian and American, has distant origins, namely in the records of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby that were listened to at home when he was a child, deepened with years of study and practiced in many years of concerts with bands and orchestras of traditional jazz, swing and jive. His collaborations are indeed many and important, from traditional jazz alongside Lino Patruno and Red Pellnini, to Italian swing for several years in Renzo Arbore’s “Swing maniacs” band, to club and festival experiences with the “Big Night Jive” and the “Sing Sing Swing Orchestra,” as well as directly under his own name.
The repertoire of the current quintet under his name is the “summa” of all these experiences, and can only embrace swing and Italian-American music whose heroes have been Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, our own Fred Buscaglione, to name a few.
Whether it is a jazz club or a private event the purpose is the one with which this music was born: to entertain. In this the intention faithfully traces that of the much illustrious predecessors.
